1995 HARVEST: 1995 will be remembered for the lingering winter and virtually non-existent summer. Floods occurred in January and March with unseasonable amounts of rainfall and then there was a surprise hail in June. Very few summer days reached 100 degrees F. The winter that wouldnt leave was not cold but rather warm and bud break was 2-3 weeks early, then the March rains and floods destroyed many buds. Late rains made it difficult to get into the vineyard and mildew, with perfect conditions and no chance to spray went wild. Selective picking was a must! Beer of choice: Red Tail Ale, cold.
